| Wakulla River, Fl May 24, 2003 Sheree and I did a little paddle on the Wakulla River from the St. Marks City Park up to the power line crossing north of US 98 and back. Saw some manatees about a mile south of the US 98 bridge. They were also some big gators a little further south. But today everyone was camera shy, so no good pictures of either. Got some of a small gator, but that was it. Sheree got a few surprises though. Two of the manatees went under her boat rather fast and bounced her a bit and then later, one of the big boys was swimming in front of her, this gator was about 12 foot. She was lead, but had turn to ask me something when I saw him. As she turned, he made a big splash and dived under. |
