 Steinhatchee River
Directions: Heading South on US 98 at the Taylor County - Dixie County Line, turn right (west) onto SR 51 south. Less than one mile on the left will be a sign for public access on the Steinhatchee river. You will turn onto a dirt road, turn a right at the first intersection (T) and follow the signs. The Launch site is a small park with parking and a boat ramp. No fees are required. Maps: Trip Description: Launch just south of the falls at the boat ramp and head down river to the town of Steinhatchee. Round trip is about fourteen miles. While there is development on this river, the upper sections is the least populated. Watch for small craft operating in lower sections of the river. Trip Report 4/21/2004
