| Located less than 30 minutes from Tallahassee, Shell Point lies about four miles to the west of the entrance to the St. Marks River. The beach is a nice launch site for day trips. Directions from Tallahassee: Head south on SR 363 to US 98, turn right on US 98 (west) to SR 367 and turn left on SR 367 (south). Follow SR 367 to Shell Point. Once in Shell Point, follow the signs to the beach. Trip Description: Take your pick, either east or west. West will take you into Oyster Bay with its maze of oyster bars and small islands. East will take you pass Live Oak Island into Goose Creek Bay. If you are into birding, head west to Smith Island, there are several bird colonies that reside there. Satellite Views and Area Maps
