Ochlockonee Bay, Fl

June 16, 2002

Sheree and I went for a short paddle on a Sunday afternoon on the Ochlockonee Bay. Nice sun, not much wind, with an incoming tide. The oyster bars you see in the pictures occur on the western side of the bay which limits boat traffic. The main channel on the eastern side of the bay is heavily traveled and can be hazardous. Even so, the oyster bars present a challenge as Sheree finds out. At high tide, these bars are covered, but at low tide, these bars may require some additional paddling to navigate.

.

Launched at the US 98 Bridge and paddled out to Bald Point, round trip 6.5miles.
