| Trip Description: Best known as a river to go tubing on a hot summer day, the Ichetucknee River provides a paddling adventure on this clear spring feed river. It is best to avoid the river during the warmer months as the number of tubers can be overwhelming. The winter months and weekdays when public schools are still in session are best. From the launch site paddle upstream to the main springs. You cannot paddle into the springs as this is a restricted area. Round trip is about 6 miles, takeout is the same as put in. Launch Site: State Park on US 27 at the Ichetucknee River Bridge. Entrance Fee is 2 dollars at the self pay station. There is a floating dock designed for the tubers takeout. Put in here and paddle up stream. The current is swift, but manageable. Note: This entrance is closed during the peak tubing months from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
